Jennifer Knittel provides group and individual music therapy services within her service specialties of dementia and hospice care.

Common goals reached through engaging in Music Therapy: Social and sensory stimulation, self expression, life review, family support, spiritual support, legacy creation, and increased comfort/quality of life.

Jennifer Knittel's current contracts throughout Northern & Central New Jersey include providing music therapy through:

Music Therapy visits at home, nursing home, and assisted living facilities. Home visits and family sessions, ages 0-110.

Flexibility with group programming and individual visits to meet needs of residents as requested by Recreation/Activity/Memory Care departments

Providing quality care & meeting NJ State Survey expectations, especially for clients who are in advanced stages of dementia, in a coma state, are nonverbal, self-isolating residents, patients who are actively dying, residents with anxious behaviors, patients with developmental disabilities, non-English speaking individuals, and fragile family situations.

I am a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT). I am a private practice music therapist as well as a music therapist at The Children's Hospital at Saint Peter's University Hospital. There, I work with infants, children, adolescents, teens, and young adults with a range of medical illnesses, including cancer and seizure disorders. I have served a wide range of diagnoses and age groups, including hospice patients, the Dementia/Alzheimer's population, children with multiple handicaps and speech delay, and many more. I also offer adapted music lessons for a range of instruments, as I am a multi-instrumentalist. This includes, but is not limited to the violin, viola, cello, guitar, piano, ukulele, drums, bass, and mandolin. I have experience in the medical setting, school setting, and private practice setting. I love to help others through the use of my passion; music!
